The trim of the 1962 Impala SS was different from the standard Impala. All Impala SS Chevrolets came with bucket seats and all vinyl interior. Trim codes for the 1962 Impala SS were unique to the SS.

Any engine could be ordered in a 1962 Super Sport, L6 or V8. All 327cid and 409cid engines came with tachometer but a tachometer could be ordered with any V8 engine as an option under RPO 331. There is no known breakdown of how many convertible vs. sport coupe Super Sports were built and no known breakdown of specific engines for any Super Sport body style.

Like the 1961 Super Sport wheel cover, the 1962 Super Sport wheel cover was unique and did not have a mounting hole for the standard plastic emblem.

The 1962 RPO code for the Super Sport package was RPO 240 and cost $156.05.
