The Body Comes Home

10/27/2008: Well, the bodyshop visit ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would be but it came home today. The shell was blasted, any rust found was repaired and the body was generally straighten. Along the way the thin divider pillar on the rear passenger side was rebuilt, new floors were installed and any other items needing attention were cleaned up and refurbished. The undercarriage was painted as was the firewall and cowl with satin black and the interior metal was painted gloss black.

Here the chassis is wrapped up and on its way to the body shop to receive the shell.

Here the shell is found in its Roller Hoops where it's sat for the past year and a half while being worked over. The overhead hoist has been attached which was used to lift the body out of the hoops so the chassis could roll underneath.

The body has been bolted down and it's ready to go home. It's almost beginning to look like a car.

Ready for the trip home.

Soon the front clip, doors and tailgate will go to the shop to be worked over, added to the body and it will then return for paint. In the mean time I'll be adding wiring and plumbing to the car so it can be started for the first time.
