Car Shows 2003

Of course one of my goals for this car during this and the previous restorations was to show the car. It is great fun to share this car and it's history with interested folks at car shows and cruises. This page will recap the shows and larger cruises I attended in 2003. I didn't attend as many shows as in past years.

Platte'rs Car Show, Gretna, NE - July 13, 2003

This year I decided to do something a little different and enter the show in the Modified class. All I did to "modify" the car was to add my '69 SS wheels and big tires, my bigger anti-sway bars and stiff shocks. This is the set up I usually use for summer cruising. I brought home a Runner's Up award.

Mid America Chevelle Regionals, Olathe, KS - August 8-9, 2003

The second annual edition of this show was better than the previous year. Many of the Heartland club members attended and we had a great time. Unfortunately I again was all alone in my class (back to stock) so I did manage to come in first. I did score well with an average of 99 points out of 100.

Last Fling 'Til Spring Sunday September 21, 2003

The Heartland club's participation was rather small this year but those of us that attended had a great time. I faced some stiff competition from a pair of 1965 Volkswagens and managed to come through with a first place. I once again made contact with the fellow who sold my car as new so it was again a special event.

That's it for this year!
